After a big breakfast, and a skype-chat with Larry we headed to Madison, Wisconsin. We drove straight to the lake for some much needed exercise, then toured UW and the university district. We checked out an open-mike at the university- where we felt old, but enjoyed the good talent.
After killing time at the local "cafe" in Bismark... our new windshield was ready to go, and we continued eastbound towards Fargo. We stopped in and visited my old stomping ground (Meritcare Hospital)... looked very different from the outside!
Our goal was to drive straight through to Fargo, but just as we were approaching Bismark, a huge pheasant got off track, and flew straight into the windshield... so hard it shattered! We took up shelter in Bismark, and will get back on the road after getting a replacement tomorrow morn. We enjoyed an early night at the pool, and watched the presidential debates!
We left Billings nice and early, and after a big breakfast we continued east to North Dakota. We stopped in at the Theodore Roosevelt National Park to stretch our legs, and enjoy the sun for a short while.
We then headed over to Billings to visit with Matt's long-time buddy Adam, and his lovely family. Little Nora had lots of fun trying on all of her many hats!
